Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with a new client (and friend!) to help organize a 50th birthday party for her husband.
She requested a vegetarian dinner with complex ethnic flavors. Together we decided on a Mexican/Fiesta theme, a favorite of mine because of all the vibrant colors. I was able to go big, bright and beautiful with the decor. Highlights from the night included a private chef preparing the meal and a self-serve bar featuring the host’s homemade sangria (the best recipe I’ve tasted!).
This family has a beautiful outdoor space that was perfect for entertaining. It was actually the first time they’d hosted a party in their backyard! I was so excited to design and style this tablescape. I pulled lots of ideas from my Cinco de Mayo Inspiration post. A long banquet table was decorated with colorful linens and serapes, white candles, lemons and limes, flowers and succulents. We rearranged some of their patio furniture to create a seating area for visiting over cocktails. The focus of this space was a large black lantern filled with colorful prayer candles and surrounded by small cacti. Strings of hanging lights and an outdoor sound system provided by The Party Buss created the perfect mood for a celebration with good friends.
It was such a pleasure working with these new friends to create a memorable birthday celebration for their family and friends. I would love to help you, too!
