Now that the dust has settled from the recent Country BBQ event I worked on, I wanted to share some of my favorite details from the day. Attention to detail is what wows guests and really takes an event over the top. I love these ideas because they can be applied to any party, regardless of size or theme. It’s also important to me that party ideas be affordable and easily accessible. Looking at eye candy in magazines is fun, but ain’t nobody got time for projects with tons of supplies and directions!
At the welcome table there was a basket full of gold and silver sheriff stars for each kid to wear and take home. A fun little favor that makes the kids feel included in the party’s theme is a great way to kick off any party.
Balloons are another opportunity to tie in your party’s theme. Don’t limit yourself to just solid color balloons in one shape. When planning the balloon arrangements for this event, I made a point to ask the vendor if they could special order items I didn’t see in the store. We were able to get cow and star printed balloons, western themed mylar balloons and oversized balloons which really stood out against the outdoor setting.
Menu cards are a detail that impresses guests. It’s another chance to add some personality to the party. This is a simple way to coordinate with table linens or pull in other colors and patterns from the rest of the decor. Our event featured a buffet lunch, a drink station and a dessert table and I made menu signs for each. Picture frames and scrapbook paper are found at most major retailers and are budget friendly. And afterward, you can repurpose the frames to display fun photos from the party!
The last detail might have been a small decision but it made a huge impact! We reserved two bounce houses, one for the older kids and one exclusively for little ones. When placing the order we talked with our vendor about the country theme of our event and how we wanted something a bit more special. They had so many options to choose from. Instead of just ordering any old bounce house we were able to get an interactive farm! It looked so awesome and became part of the party’s decor. If your budget allows, having different bounce houses for different age groups is a good safety precaution.
This has been one of my favorite themes so far. It just feels so cheerful and friendly plus it works perfectly for an outdoor event. I can’t wait for another excuse to pull out my country decor and details again! Until then, visit my pinterest board for some new ideas to inspire your next BBQ.
